With its beautiful landscape and southwestern aura, this state provides many beautiful backdrops for the lifestyle photographer. The Hoover, Roosevelt and Glen Canyon dams are popular tourist attractions and provide beautiful backdrops for family portraits. Maybe you’d like to have a “Wild West” family vacation experience in the town of Tombstone which is best known for the “Gunfight at OK Corral”. Ghost towns left from early gold rush days are also an option for some quick family photos. Many prefer a quieter, more natural setting for their family session location. In this case the Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest National Park, Painted Desert, Monument Desert, Canyon Diablo or one of the many other “natural wonders” Arizona has to offer is sure to provide the optimum picturesque family photo shoot settings.Whether the location choice be one of tourism or natural landscape, your gang is sure to find Arizona a welcoming family vacation destination. I have been in the photography industry for over 9 years, with the last 4 running my own business. I am dedicated to document how it felt. I want my images to timelessly remind my subject how it felt to be a part of your family, to laugh, to hold your youngest child. I am grateful to give my clients memories of it was truly like to be a part of your family. Kids. They're amazing to work with. Totally unpredictable and give the best expressions. I have three kids of my own and know that my favorite images of them are the ones that really show their personalities. So that's what I strive to do for you. Don't worry, I also get great laughing, and genuine smiles too. I pride myself on my ability to get kids of all ages to crack a smile.
I love the desert, Boston Terriers and bright colorful sneakers. I am married to a fellow photojournalist who shares my passion for photography and adventure. I consider myself a storyteller who creates unique, thoughtful, artistic and candid photographs that will last a lifetime.
I am a documentary photographer, a visual storyteller, from Salt Lake City, Utah. I am passionate about capturing powerful, intimate experiences in the sometimes messy but beautiful story of life. My images embrace real people, real emotion, and real life. My work can be seen in the permanent exhibits at the Natural History Museum of Utah. Also, In 2012, I traveled with the Museum to document the techniques and lives of Navajo Basket Weavers in south-eastern Utah, for a special exhibit entitled, Weaving a Revolution. Images were utilized in large exhibit form in the traveling space at the Natural History Museum of Utah, as well as a large coffee table style book, both designed by the team at the museum, documenting the Renaissance that these incredible Navajo artists started in the Monument Valley region. Additionally, I was commissioned by the Natural History Museum of Utah to create thousands of portraits for the Genetic Trait Tree, the local aspect to the special exhibit developed and produced by the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History entitled Genome: Unlocking Life’s Code. I have also had the honor of traveling with the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champions Ambassador Tour for the past 3 years; documenting the Champions as they meet with their state representatives, celebrities, corporate sponsors, and even President Obama and First Lady Michele Obama. Events included: ceremonies on stage, concerts, fund raising, and behind the scenes relationships to provide an overall feel of the exciting and high energy trip. My Education: I have an Associates Degree in Photography, and a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Visual Communications from Weber State University. Working towards a Masters Degree in the near future.
As a father of 3, I know how crazy parenthood is. I also know how fast time goes by and how important it is to record those fleeting moments that make up this wild thing we call 'life'. That is why I feel, more strongly then ever, that it is very crucial to be as unobtrusive as I can be when making photographs of families so that I do not interrupt those moments that make this whole thing worthwhile and precious. To document those little moments that you will look back on and make you smile is not just for you, the parent, but more so for your children. For them to have an honest record of how your life and family were in truth. Life is too short not to.
I'm an artist. I love to make things, sew things, paint things, knit things. We are nature lovers. We hike, bike, kayak, hang out in hammocks, camp & explore. I'm trying to become a gardener! I'm also trying to become a foodie, but pbjs & pizza are just sooo good! I love to travel, whether back roads or out of the country, and I'm a photographer. I feel so lucky to have found my passion so early in life. I majored in photojournalism (& ceramics) in college. friends asked me to photograph their weddings & I was done, stick a fork in me! I was a documentary wedding photographer. I'm usually pretty loud, with my cackle n all, but being a quiet observer & capturing incredible moments in someone's life is one of my most favorite things to do.
