With over 13 years as a pro photographer and former modeling experience, I have a knack for finding the best shots and angles quickly and creating a fun experience to produce fabulous results for my clients. I love making portraits that make my subjects feel seen. heard. beautiful. and empowered. I enjoy creating content for entrepreneurs, especially those in the service or wellness industry, so they can convey their brand message in a unique and pleasing way to stir up more engagement and trust from their ideal clients. I'm an International Award-Winning Member of the WPJA (Wedding Photojournalist Association) and have been featured in the Los Angeles Times, OC Register, and various magazines in South Florida, Southern California, and in Lima, Peru including El Comercio, Publimetro, and Somos Fiestas. I've had solo photo exhibits in California and Peru. Currently located in Southern California and constantly traveling around the globe to capture story-telling photographs, portraits, and events.
Based in California, Jonathan specializes in photographing family and newborn sessions in the South Bay of Los Angeles, such as Palos Verdes, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Torrance. A UCLA graduate, Jonathan has previously worked as a photojournalist and wedding photographer in New York. With an eye for detail and a keen sense of anticipation, he has traveled to various places for photography, including the hills of Kentucky and the deserts of Arizona. Jonathan loves capturing the unique story of each family, as well as their joy and emotion.
I am a Southern California storyteller photographer, capturing your everyday life and times in images. For me, it is all about authentic imagery that represents who you are. I’ve always been one to document, but my love of photography really blossomed with the birth of our first child. I inherited my first DSLR camera, which I enjoyed, but it wasn’t until a friend taught me how to use the manual mode that I realized pointing and shooting play a very small role in creating a compelling image. So my quest began: to make images — creatively and expertly — that move the viewer. Soon after, I had life-changing moments to document: our 2nd daughter’s cleft palate surgery and bringing our son home from the hospital for the first time. But I have realized what I enjoy most is capturing the little things: how she cocks her head when she pushes her palms into the play dough, or how he clambers up onto a bike that is way too big for him. For me, the joy of capturing a moment beautifully and memorably is the most exciting part of photography. I would love to share this gift with you, to come together for a time and create a collection of images that bring you just such joy.
I'm a West Texas Catholic girl. NOW. (I wasn't always.) I live in Lubbock, Texas, and came here for love and never left. Yes. I married my college sweetheart. I adore photographing emotional moments and actually consider that my drug of choice. It's just addicting, watching people in love interact and enjoy life and each other. When people are REAL when they are naked to their emotions when they show how they really feel? It's just a wonderful thing. I love movies, but I can't remember movie lines or jokes. I like to hear them and you know when you get with your friends and you laugh until your tummy hurts? That's my favorite thing to do. We owned a video store, (think mom + pop style), for the first 22 plus years of our marriage. (yes, I married at age 12. -snort-) Things I've watched and developed an addiction to: Grey's Anatomy, Friday Night Lights, Sex and the City, Gilmore Girls, Call the Midwife, The Walking Dead, and yep. I'll admit it, even the Kardashians. I know, shaking my head in shame on that last one. Oh, wait! Friends. I have the entire set on DVD. Did I mention that we used to own a video store? You know, back in the day. I love the beach! I grew up summers in Long Beach, CA and it's the one place on earth I feel totally at peace and relaxed. There's always something going on inside my heart, my brain, my body. The beach reconnects them all. It's my happy place. I don't get there near enough.
The story of my life with a camera started when I was 11, and without knowing it, I have had a camera at my side since that day 24 years ago. But my journey of photographing human connection started 9 years ago after I gave birth to my daughter. Feeling like time was moving too fast, my lens turned to the tiny human in my lap. Her newborn toes and baby rolls were quickly transforming into a fast and toothy toddler... I wanted to remember it all. Each tiny finger. Every curl on the back of her neck. How we touched noses for comfort. Or the first garden we planted together. As a child, I loved flipping through old picture boxes and hoarding my favorites. I asked about what I saw in the pictures and my parents recalled vacations, holidays, stories of drawing on the walls with permanent markers, birthdays, or trips to the park to feed the ducks. The pictures became a way for us to remember. To tell stories. Photography is my way of storytelling, and when I look at a photograph, I FEEL the moment, and my head and heart rejoice in the memory. With my lens, I capture the everyday details that make up my life, those moments that become my cherished memories.
